So, let's say you've got a new solar-charged driving set-up: an electric car + home solar and you're looking to let the world know just how great it is to be Driving on Sunshine. How can you do that?
Just by chance during a Google search, I happened to come across the fact that someone has bought the domain names ChevyBoltSolarCharger.Com, NissanLeafSolarCharger.Com and Model3SolarCharger.Com.
Yes, you can fuel your car for free -- if you invest in home solar and an electric car! How?You pay upfront for your solar 'gas station', allow it to reach so-called 'solar payback' the point in time at which the money you spent on the solar system = the amount you would have paid to a utility for your electricity, a point typically reached after five to 10 years in the United States, then you've got free gas for the lifetime of your solar gas pump which = 10, 15, even 20 years.
Two more solar-charged drivers are online in California. Good news! Thank you for sharing....
Ed Knapton, who lives in Texas and has both a Chevy Bolt and a Chevy Volt, just posted a few pictures to the Facebook Volt Owners Group. He's just added a new vanity license plate to his impressive solar PV + EV setup, "SOLR EV".
I'm always on the lookout for custom plates that promote electric cars and, especially, those that promote renewable energy + electric cars. I happened to come across one such plate on a Tesla Model S this afternoon parked at my ex-wife's apartment/condo complex in Centennial, Colorado.
