I had solar for nearly six years on a house in Aurora, Colo. that I lived in with my family. Life happened -- divorce, etc. -- and I no longer have the house, or the solar.A year ago, I moved into a so-called "cohousing" community, Highline Crossing Cohousing in Littleton, Colo. I moved here because cohousing is more community based than average HOAs/neighborhoods. I wanted more community, less suburban isolation and alienation.
As you may have heard, starting in 2020, California will require that all new single-family homes include a solar power system. (At present, about one in five new homes has solar added when built.) This will help California meet its ambitious goals regarding greenhouse gas emissions, and will continue California's leadership in home energy efficiency.
Yes, solar is really taking off around the world!...
I'm always on the lookout for custom plates that promote electric cars and, especially, those that promote renewable energy + electric cars. I happened to come across one such plate on a Tesla Model S this afternoon parked at my ex-wife's apartment/condo complex in Centennial, Colorado.
I’ve got a vanity plate that advertises solar + electric vehicle synergy on my 2017 Chevy Bolt, SOLPWRD. I thought it would be interesting to see what kinds of other vanity plates are out there for electric cars that also Drive on Sunshine and amass Sun Miles® on a regular basis. Check some of them out in the slideshow below :-)
As the graphic above indicates, "cheap" fossil fuels are no such thing. In fact, fossil fuels are extremely expensive -- although their front-end price does not reflect this.
