Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.I shot this picture from the 8th floor of Children's Hospital in Aurora, Colo. just now. My blue solar-charged, all-electric Chevy Bolt (roughly in the center of the photo) is dwarfed by the SUVs and pick-up trucks that are parked right next to it.
It's taken three long years, but, finally, I am solar-charging my electric car, a 2020 Chevy Bolt, again!
In the more than 10 years I have been doing SolarChargedDriving.Com and advocating for solar-charged driving, the electric grid has gotten considerably cleaner in the United States -- and in many places around the world.
When you need to replace a hot water heater, your furnace and/or air conditioner, your stove/oven, consider electric options, including an electric heat pump.
About 10 years ago, in June of 2010, my ex-wife and I became the first homeowners in our Aurora, Colo. neighborhood to install a rooftop solar system on our single family home.
Thanks to the continued, massive burning of fossil fuels, our house, the earth, is literally on fire, as the Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg noted almost two years ago .
