Three years ago, I successfully completed a 2,400-mile round trip in my leased 2017 Chevy Bolt from Denver (really Littleton), Colo. to Santa Barbara (really Goleta), Calif. with my two daughters. We visited my sister and her family in Goleta and had a great time.
I've been itching to do a road trip in my 2020 Chevy Bolt between the Denver, Colo. area, where I live, and Northwestern Wyoming, Southern Montana, home to Grand Teton National and Yellowstone National Park, for awhile.
Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.I shot this picture from the 8th floor of Children's Hospital in Aurora, Colo. just now. My blue solar-charged, all-electric Chevy Bolt (roughly in the center of the photo) is dwarfed by the SUVs and pick-up trucks that are parked right next to it.
It's taken three long years, but, finally, I am solar-charging my electric car, a 2020 Chevy Bolt, again!
So, a new 20 kW solar system with two separate arrays on two separate roof areas, including a set of garages, is going up in our Highline Crossing Cohousing Community here in Littleton, Colo. :-)
I recently wrote about how I turned in my 2017 Chevy Bolt LT nine months early on a 39-month lease. In that blog entry, I focused primarily on how much money I would save by doing so over leasing a Tesla Model 3. I posted a link to this SolarChargedDriving.Com entry to a Chevy Bolt Facebook Group and received nearly 150 likes and more than 100 comments. My blog entry sparked a lot of interesting discussion and debate and I thank all those who posted likes and comments and feedback.
