Is it just me, or does the Tesla Model S get you excited?
How can it not, especially the high-end model with the giant 85 kWh battery pack and the extra performance, performance that can rocket the all-electric car from 0-60 mph in a serious g-force inducing 4.4 seconds?
If you watch the Edmunds.Com Model S Track Test video embedded above and don’t come away totally impressed, and hot for Tesla, I’m not sure what’s wrong with you.
$100k car
Yeah, it is a $100k car. But so are a lot of high-end gas sports cars, and they aren’t nearly so hot – and cool – at the same time as the high end Model S, which can not only rocket from 0-60 mph in less time than it takes you to log in to your e-mail, but which is the future, not the past, of sports car driving!

In fact, it’s hard for me to believe that the whole automotive world isn’t as fired up about the Model S as I am.
If I had $100k to burn, I’d be leaping into a Model S yesterday and fueling its speedy electric motor with 100-percent, green, clean solar energy.
But maybe I’m just a freak and most “normal” automotive aficionados would rather plop down $100k on some filthy, loud, gas stinker.
I hope that’s not the case. Because, as big a big mouth as Tesla CEO Elon Musk is – something that undercuts the underdog status of the upstart EV maker in an odd but also significant way — I’m pulling, really pulling, for Tesla to hit the big time and to show the automotive world and the arrogant – not to mention ignorant – EV naysayers, heck, the whole world, that EVs rock in a very serious way!
