The aptly-named City of Industry, Calif. Friday wiill unveil what it says is the largest solar carport in Southern California.
The carport, which will integrate solar and EV charging, will be revealed at a grand opening ceremony at the city’s Metrolink station, 600 S. Brea Canyon Road.

“The City of Industry has provided a state-of-the-art renewable energy solution to today’s growing energy needs by installing solar PV carports on an existing parking lot, providing electricity directly to the grid which powers the 64 EV charging stations that also are installed on the site,” notes a news release on the project.
The Whittier-based Oltmans Construction Company, a general contractor which has installed solar throughout Southern California, built the solar EV carport.
