Planet Solar offers glimpse of our solar future

We here at SolarChargedDriving.Com happen to think solar is beautiful. It’s elegant, sophisticated, simple and clean all at the same time.

But some things solar are more beautiful and more elegant than others.

Planet Solar, a giant solar catamaran boat that’s making a groundbreaking journey around the world powered exclusively by solar energy is certainly one of these.

There’s something extremely majestic about pictures and videos of Planet Solar as it slices through the deep blue waters of the world’s oceans, as you can see if you watch the YouTube video above (we highly recommend that you do!).

PlanetSolar100 percent solar-powered
We confess to being a bit geeky, but we get shivers when we watch Planet Solar’s large blades churning through the water

Why?

Because 100 percent of the energy turning those gleaming white blades is solar-generated.

No filthy diesel or bunker fuel here. Just the relentless pounding of the solar system’s primary source of energy – the sun – onto Planet Solar’s giant solar panel surfaces.

Planet Solar is a glimpse at a beautiful and exciting future – one in which renewable energy will power the entire world. That future is inevitably coming.

The only question: How quickly will we get there?

With cutting edge transportation forms such as Planet Solar, and Solar Impulse, a solar-powered plane, which has recently been hopping around Europe, along with the less futuristic, but just as important forms such as electric vehicles plugging into solar-powered EV charging stations, home solar, etc., it is our sincere hope that we reach that renewable energy powered future sooner, rather than later.
