It might be a bit of stretch to call the YouTube video above – which tells the story of one of the first couples in the U.S. to tap solar-charged driving – a classic. Although, having been posted “way” back in 2008, it’s surely one of the first such videos to have appeared on YouTube.
But if it isn’t a “classic” this video, which highlights Zan Dubin Scott’s and Paul Scott’s experience with EV + PV, is still one of the better videos out there in terms of simplicity and clarity.

It’s pretty clear how Zan and Paul use an electric car, in this case, what one might well call an EV ‘classic’, a Toyota RAV4 EV from the early 2000s, to drive on sunshine.
Hope you enjoy the clip — and that it inspires you as much as it does us.
We’re actually a bit embarrassed to say that we didn’t discover this video until a few weeks ago. This despite the fact that we did a long feature story on Zan and Paul almost two and a half years ago. In fact, that feature was one of the first storiesto ever run on SolarChargedDriving.Com, which launched in Sept. 2009.
