Solar and EV charging will be coming together at a Portland, Ore. IKEA store.
IKEA Portland will get 2,072 solar panels which will generate about 568,900 kilowatt hours per year, which IKEA estimates will be the equivalent carbon savings of taking 77 cars off the road.
IKEA’s announcement is good news for solar, EVs, and, of course, solar-charged driving. In fact, it’s starting to look like solar + EV charging will be standard at IKEA stores throughout the U.S.
It’s all part of a growing trend by large businesses to place solar modules and EV charging on the same commercial site.
