greenlotsSingapore-based Greenlots is encouraging people to switch from their gas-guzzling vehicles to electric vehicles by providing affordable and easy-to-use solar-powered charging networks to global markets.

Greenlots allows utilities, municipalities, car park operators, and EV manufacturers and distributors to install, own, and operate their own local charging networks, including fully solar-powered units called Greenlots Solar Charging Stations.

The solar-charging stations generate 3.15 kWh on a typical day, or enough to charge two to four electric scooters.

Greenlotsā€™ goal is to create a station in each city that has conditions conducive to EVs, such as stop-and-go traffic as well as abundant parking lots and electricity.

Using existing infrastructure and power grids simplifies installation and keeps set-up costs low. EV drivers can sign up with Greenlots to obtain a Greenlots Key. This will allow them to plug in and charge at any Greenlotsā€™ station.

The company has already begun to install networks in Singapore, including a Greenlots Solar Charging Station there, and has recently signed its first distribution partners in Europe and the Asia-Pacific with the hopes of targeting all of the EV ā€˜hot spotā€™ cities like Tokyo, Sydney, Barcelona, and San Francisco.
