The Lexington, Mass. Elements hotel will offer free charging for EV owners.

Element Hotels, a part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, will offer free electric vehicle charging for guests at its Lexington, Mass. property.

The charging station, which is co-sponsored by Carbon Day Automotive, was announced in July. No date has been specified for its opening.

Glenview, IL (PRWEB) – Zoos around the U.S. are going solar – as in low-speed, over-size solar-powered passenger shuttles used to cart zoo-goers around the grounds – thanks in part to a recently announced partnership between the Solar Electric Vehicle Company, LLC (SEVC) and Encompass Media Group, Inc. (EMG).

SEVC offers its 14-passenger Solar Electric People Mover to public and private institutions at no cost. The vehicles are sponsored by environmentally conscious companies. Encompass Media Group works to find corporate partnerships at each Zoo location.

A team of eco-friendlier adventurers in solar-powered boats, cars and trucks is trekking from Sweden to Spain to demonstrate the feasibility of harnessing the sun as a transportation fuel, reports Autopia.

The Peoples Projects Foundation, based in Amsterdam, organized this coming May’s trip from Stockholm to Barcelona. Onboard a flotilla of three solar-powered boats are a solar truck, solar ATV with trailer and a small solar car.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Sequoia Solar, a San Diego solar company,  powered up its first networked solar-powered electric vehicle charging station Nov. 11.

Sequoia is marrying its solar technologies with EV charging technology built by Coulomb Technologies to extend a ChargePoint® Network throughout San Diego County.
