sungevity-solar-ice-creamSungevity, the California-based solar company that’s grown leaps and bounds by tapping the wonders of solar leasing, is hoping a really cool truck that uses portable sun power to deliver cold treats to customers will help heat up business on the East Coast.

The “Rooftop Revolution” is a rolling solar ice cream truck that uses solar power to help generate some of the electricity needed to keep its contents cool.

The unique, blazing orange truck with pop-up PV is currently making the rounds in Sungevity’s newest markets in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.

Sungevity offers online quotes so that customers know immediately how much they can save by going solar. In fact, the company’s solar-powered ice cream truck is equipped with iPads so that iQuotes can be done at no charge while you lap down a solar-generated snow cone.

You can follow the “Rooftop Revolution” on Facebook and Twitter. And, who knows, if you live on the East Coast, you might be close enough to one of the truck’s planned stops to load up on solar-produced ice cream.
