Two videos shed light on Ford Focus Electric

ford-focus-electric-chargeUntil recently, Ford hasn’t been pushing its electric vehicles as much as Nissan and GM, at least not in the U.S. But that’s really beginning to change. For instance, in the article below this one you’ll see that Ford is teaming up with electronics store giant Best Buy to install home EV charging stations to help consumers power the Focus Electric and a plug-in hybrid Focus as well.

And Ford is now offering more video of its 2012 Focus Electric, which it’s planning to make available in 19 select U.S. markets by the end of 2011. Here, we offer you two videos posted to YouTube within the last few days that:

a) Give you a better idea of what the 2012 Focus Electric will look like, quite literally;

b) Show while Ford is definitely behind Nissan and GM, both of which began delivering EVs in the U.S. in late 2010, it’s ramping up to challenge both of them, with, it would seem, a particular focus on the LEAF.

Unfortunately, CNN has disabled embedding capabilities on the second video we found, so we provide you with the link instead — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9xtS_NuJoM. It’s an interesting clip, so we encourage you to take the extra step of clicking on the link and watching it on YouTube.
