Hawaii gets its first solar-charged plug-in station

hawaii-solar-plug-inGreen Energy Outlet, an eco-friendly supplier of contracting materials, has installed a solar-powered charging station at 575 Cooke Street in Kailua, Honolulu.

Part of the Coulomb Technologies ChargePoint® Charging Stations Network, the station is the second alternative-powered charging station in Hawaii. The first is a wind-turbine station located on Maui at Maui Electric Company used for charging an MECO owned EV.

Coulomb’s Maui-based distributor WindChargeUSA installed and will maintain the charging station, which is free to the public.

“In addition to being one of the most beautiful places in the world, Hawaii has the natural resources to make alternative fueling options commonplace,” said Richard Lowenthal, CEO of Coulomb Technologies.
